Essential Functions:

Recruits, develops and maintains community service, job experience and apprentice worksites for TANF participants in the Work Experience Program. Supports and sustains the WEP sites by matching TANF recipients to employment specifics sites based on the job seekers previous work experience, certifications and credentials

  • Develop new non-profit WEP sites and assignments appropriate for ASPIRE job seekers, and train designated on-site WEP site supervisors
  • Matches job seekers with WEP assignments based on their FCA, diagnostic vocational evaluation, special needs and TANF work requirements
  • Ensures concurrent activities, such as job readiness and preparation, supports the required TANF participation hours necessary for the job seekers and/or family unit
  • Communicates with the job seekers and the WEP site supervisor to ensure understanding of assigned responsibilities and work assignments
  • Ensures job seeker understands his/her responsibilities as they relate to timekeeping, timesheets and documentation for excused absences
  • Assists job seekers with transportation needs, work accommodations and additional resources to ensure success in WEP assignment
  • Continually identifies and assists the job seekers with mitigating barriers related to WEP and program participation including but not limited to: physical health, mental health, housing, child care, transportation, substance abuse, domestic violence and emergency services
  • Mediates potential conflicts between the WEP supervisor and the job seeker to maintain TANF compliance
  • Ensures the job seekers has all required paperwork and TANF information needed
  • Ensures job seekers and/or WEP site report hours of participation in a timely manner to ensure job seeker follows the TANF mandates
  • Reviews and analyze deficit hour reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Documents all WEP services in Case Management systems
  • Assists with outreach for any job seekers who are non-compliant with WEP participation

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
