Engineer I

Job Description: CI Engineer
Summary: Use engineering skills to support continuous improvement activities in a manufacturing environment.
Work closely with production personnel to identify and implement process improvements. This may include the designing or modifying of fixtures, assembly equipment, material handling equipment, tools, gauges or other equipment to improve the safety, productivity, ergonomics or quality of the product.
Use Lean Production tools throughout the plant to eliminate waste and improve operations.
Facilitate group activities as required to gain team support for ideas.
Utilize SolidWorks software to generate tooling, fixtures, gauges and equipment drawings.
Fabricate items as required using fabrication, welding and machining skills.
Help implement Standardized Work in all areas of the plant. Assist with Job Instruction Preparation.
Prepare time studies, train personnel, audit personnel and provide feedback to plant Supervision as required.
Be able to specify and introduce new technologies, methodologies, processes, tooling, gauges, fixtures and equipment.
Initiate and maintain Engineering Change Notices as required.
Write technical reports to document test results or document improvements.
Work with other departments to support and improve customer relations and resolve quality issues.
Follow all Fisher Engineering safety rules; maintain safe work area and equipment.
Promptly report or resolve any unsafe condition.
Follow all Company rules, procedures and policies.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge of and ability to apply computers and related software, such as spreadsheet, work processing, CAD, programs to solve of engineering problems. Able to use a variety of small hand and power tools, a variety of tool room machines, a calculator, telephone, photocopier, fax, etc. Working knowledge of Lean tools, statistical process control, DFMEA and PFMEA, geometric tolerance, DFM, DFA, ergonomics and FEA.
Education Requirements:
BS degree in a technical field with 1-3 years of applicable experience or PE certification with 5-10 years of applicable experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
