Responsibilities:
Senior Process Engineer focus on more routine plant operation; develop process technologies required to support business goals; and assist in designs, start-ups and plant optimization. Support production to keep the plant running, working closely with operators and supervisors to drive continuous, reliable production. Track daily performance and respond to safety / quality / capacity issues. Excel at performing fundamental or applied technical work in a PSM covered facility.

The Sr. Process Engineer, located in Rockland, Maine, will focus on more routine plant operation; develop process technologies required to support business goals; and assist in designs, start-ups and plant optimization. Track daily performance and respond to safety / quality / capacity issues. Excel at performing fundamental or applied technical work in a PSM covered facility.
Safety/Environmental
Work safely and improve safety in a Process Safety covered facility;
Active and successful participation in PSM covered systems, including PSI, PHA, and MOC (management of change) reviews and implementation.
Support production to identify and address safety issues
Participate in the plant safety program
Develop and implement safe designs for process improvements
Participate in Hazops and project safety reviews
Environmental reporting as required by the EHS manager
Production Support
Owner of process engineering activities associated with plant operations
Process engineers may be assigned specific plant process areas (area engineer) or assigned to develop specific projects, controls (PI support) or processes
Key technical contact for immediate production issues
Own plant OEE metrics
Monitor plant performance and make adjustments to insure plant meets production rate, yield, uptime, and quality targets
Lead and/or support root cause analysis and develop corrective actions to production issues
Provide operator training as appropriate
Provide on-going, systematic evaluation of all aspects of each unit operations (the process controls, instrumentation, equipment design, operator interface, maintenance practices, ergonomics, procedures) to improve process reliability, efficiency and quality. Identify, prioritize, and implement opportunities for improvement
Process Technology Development
Identify concepts, technologies and methods to improve plant operations. Improvements may be in areas such as: Customer Service, Cost Reduction, Quality, Safety or Operability. This may include improvement to items such as equipment, methods, procedures or controls. Organize and design new technology experiments
Project Support
Implement process changes and work with improvement engineer to support implementation of manufacturing excellence initiatives
Insure proper management of change for process changes
Assist in developing technology (equipment tests, PFD, PID development), specifying equipment for projects, reviewing designs for completeness, and implementing start-up of installations as assigned
Write operating procedures and train operators on start-ups and integration of new systems
Personal Growth

Complete development courses as outlined in the development plan
Qualifications:
Required Education:
BS Chemical Engineering
PSM experience required
Computer literate
Five to ten years of engineering experience either in a chemical or food processing plant
Physical Requirements
The position requires the ability to routinely inspect the plant operations. This involves climbing ladders and entering tanks. It requires the physical ability to travel and inspect plants at other locations and the ability to wear the protective equipment required to perform these inspections.
